I'm going to make the official announcement for the current plans at SloPny Race Works.
As most know, I have produced a very bi-polar program for my 1992 AWD Talon in the past. I have spent enormous amounts of time keeping 'er clean, with all the mechanicals in good, well maintained working order. While at the same time beating every last ounce of performance from the stock 14b 2.0 Mitsubishi set-up for that year. My DSM gave up a couple pistons and a few 14b turbo's to the cause, but I can't complain with three best of quarter mile passes of 12.6's at Cordova. It's now time to let you all in on the most recent developments and plans for my Talon. Last year between Cordova's Midnight Mayhem when I lost a piston, and the date for our Sport Compact Drag Challenge... I commited to building a 2.4 stroker for a bit more sleeper attitude. After mucho research and a point of no return on parts purchases, it was clear that a much bigger turbo would be required to handle the profuse exhaust flow generated by the additional displacement. So a BR500 was added to the aquisitions while things got buttoned up about a week before SCDC. Sadly a machining decision thought to be conservative ended up blowing my special head gasket on the way to SCDC. More money was sunk into the monster with eight new SS oversized valves, a valve job and a resurfacing. Things came down to the wire the night before Vicary day, only to find that my bet on the turned down G64b crank turned sour and Rods started to knock like a 'TAPS' salute to the sinking of my cubic dollars. (Now it may make sense why I decided to try a turned crank since the G64b cranks aren't nearly as common as the 4G63 versions) Time has past and parts are in for a more experienced and well defined build on a 2.5 Liter stroker engine supported and held back to 500WHP only by the BR500s ability or lack there-of to do so. Spool on the untuned set-up with knocking rods and all, was coming on similar to my 14b with the 2.0 engine. With this amount of power potentially on tap I plan to be able to pull in mid 11's at 25psi, without having to abuse the set-up in a full weight stock appearing 1G DSM. I should be able to roll out and ease into my launches, while not worrying about speed shifting and the problems associated with missing. I will have to live and learn the new requirements put on my drive train and wallet as the experience unfolds. That however is only one new Threat for the summer of 2004... The second and just as potent threat comes in the form of a Black 1993 RX7 recently acquired from image4u2see! Image has put together an incredible assembly of parts that make my mouth water. With the thought of them installed within the beautiful lines of the most sexy RX7 ever created, I can't help but be excited to say the least. There is no exact timelime on this wicked single turbo charged, 500HP machine, but when she comes out you will be the first to know. Currently you can see a few dark pics in the Gallery of the new SloPny shop ride. I will keep you updated on the progress... See YOU this summer -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo

Hey Marcus,
Just wanted you to know that your first post sounded really familiar. These buildups start small, but the longer that the parts take to go on the bigger the parts tend to get. My own setup went from NA to 14b to 20g to frank 3 before I even got the parts installed. Gotta love your go big or don't go kinda attitude. -------------------- GVR4 866/1000 = the perpetually broken car
