ok i am having another problem with my car. while cruising at the same speed, my auto meter boost gauge is reading about 5-10 vacuum. ive been told it should usually be between 15-20. well today, it started to make a hissing sound like air escaping and was running about 5-7 vacuum. the noise seemed to be coming from in the engine in front of the driver seat.
is this my wastegate gone bad? any advice would be great. i have a mitsu 12a turbo and was wondering if the wastegate off it would work on the 14b. otherwise im gonna need to buy a new 14b wastegate. -------------------- 2001 Chevy Silverado ext. cab 4x4

Sounds more like a vaccum leak... check those vaccum lines and make sure nothing's cracked or melted.
