The passenger side fan won't work because the compressor outlet needs to be where the fan is. Like I said, it also looks like it needs to be where the radiator is to get the manifold to fit, but I also have a 90 degree elbow welded on to the turbo which makes the compressor outlet slightly longer. I should have mentioned that before. I know the welded 90 degree elbow is pretty common among guys with larger turbos on DSM's. The driver's side fan won't work because the manifold brings the turbo out far enough for the wastegate actuator arm to be where the fan motor is.
If SSautochrome can revamp the manifold similar to the way Spy describes fitment shouldn't be a problem. It would be ideal if it could fit exactly how a stock manifold fits, because my turbo doesn't have any clearance issues with the stock manifold. The problem simply comes in that the tubular manifold simply brings the turbo out too far from the engine. This is okay for smaller turbos even though lines have to be cut and/or bent a little, but clearance seems to become a problem with larger turbos. |
