QUOTE (ncgalant @ Nov 12 2004, 10:52 AM) QUOTE (natedogg @ Nov 12 2004, 07:57 AM) Sorry to hear you're getting out. I know how these cars can suck the money right out of you, though. I guess, now you can help Cory build his turbo Ranger ![]() I remember when I first got into DSM's, I was just planning on an exhaust, an intake, and a mbc. Ha. I don't know what your thinking Nate, but I was thinking a single 14b at 7psi nonintercooled would suit him pretty well for the way he drives. The only thing I'd like to see would be a 7cm housing on her. As for you plans, well mine were about the same. I had intended on using a 14b to turbo my car and only to spend $1000 at most. We see where that went. It seems the longer your car sits the bigger your plans get. Sounds like a good plan. Might wanna opt for an intercooler anyway considering how cheap you can buy DSM smic's for. I imagine he may see some creep with 3 liters of Ford V6 muscle pushing on a little 14b. An intercooler would help keep the temp down if this happens. |

So why are you giving up on the DSM?
When you say the car is eating you alive, you mean it costs too much to repair/maintain? Why do all of your projects seem to cost more than you expected? Does the added HP stress the rest of the car too much? |

I've got a lot of bills in general and the car needed lots of cash to be thrown at it(struts, springs, tires, rims, rotors, etc).
My projects always went well when I worked on her, I had just done to many and sunk myself into debt to do them. I wasn't in over my head, as I was getting out, but it would have been a year before I was clean and by then I'd like to have a house. There will undoubtedly be another project car starting in a year or so. I can already feel the modgremlines biting. -------------------- GVR4 866/1000 = the perpetually broken car

QUOTE (spyonu2007 @ Nov 12 2004, 02:47 AM) What would you like to shoot it with? 300whinchester mag? .308? (7.62X54)7.62X34? .3030? .223?44mag? .40sw 9mm or .22? I have access to 8mm mauser and .357/.38 mag as well. Id recommend shooting it from a considerable distance with anything you try. I was on the recieving end of a 41mag that fragmented, caught some in the thigh and knee, kinda felt like a hot knife as I recall. What would you like to shoot it with? 300whinchester mag? .308?
