Greetings all,
As the new kid on the block, I thought I should introduce myself and my car. I hail from the birthplace of the DSM, Normal Illinois. Until 1/5/2005, I drove a 93 Talon DL, but it gave it's life protecting me in a close encounter with a semi on the interstate up in Wisconsin. I have replaced that Talon with another. A 92 Talon TSI FWD. This new car is actually in better condition than the 93 and has 70,000 total miles less than the 93. So now I am trying to get used to driving an automatic regularly after driving manual for the past 25 years. talon829 -------------------- 92 Talon TSI FWD

good to hear, it's one of the first times i have ever heard of a dsm helping its owner in any other way than smoking that car i shall not name on the main strip. but ne ways welcome to the neighborhood, sorry to hear the new car is an auto, any mods planned

Only mods I'm thinking about at this time might be new struts and maybe strut bars. I've been the mod route before and really just plan to drive this Talon. It is in almost perfect running order and is definitely quick enough for me. It also has the power I need, just in case, something my 93 lacked.
I'm more into driving than racing. I'd rather be on the open road than on a track. Give me a long distance to go and I am happy. I have been known to get off the normal paths and find the back roads, just to drive them. If I were to race a car, it would be a road race rather than a strip. This 92 Talon should fit the bill quite nicely, even though it is an automatic. It is such good condition, I just could not pass it up. talon829 -------------------- 92 Talon TSI FWD

i hear you. my first awd was the same story. it was mint with low miles and lots of work but it was auto and i just couldn't stand it. i'm a road guy too. i just like smoking the hunduhs and domestics out here in chicagos suburbia.

Autos can be fun too. My first was a 92 GST auto. Great daily driver until the transmission pooped on me. Evidently, the auto Mitsu transmissions are very delicate. Twin City Hydramatic has tried to rebuild my friends 91 Eagle Talon DL transmission four times now to no success. They keep burning up on the lift. Make sure you take care of it though and use OE Mitsu ATF when you flush it and you should be alright.
