Sweet numbers on the H22/Del Sol
We finished up that H22/Civic Friday and put down 185 whp and 155 tq http://www.rndauto.com/tom.htm 13's on street tires in that car will be easy. Too bad Rizzo didn't go. For how much smack he talks about Honduhs, Ryan might have felt dumb seeing a Civic making more power than he did. -------------------- |

HP=(TQ X RPM) / 5250
Pretty sure that is the proper equation. Please correct if I'm wrong, but that's it off the top of my head. -------------------- 2009 Scion Tc

QUOTE Sweet numbers on the H22/Del Sol have to disagree with your definition of sweet here. h22 rated at 200 - 220 at the crank... he pulls 179-85 to the wheels... i'd call that expected... hope to god he didn't have any mods on the car if you consider that sweet. -------------------- game over.

Marty and I am with xian on the sol I was pissed and I put down 123whp, one less than the stock rated crank, yet he is happy he is making stock whp I would pissed if I hadnt, and content if I had, on a bone stock motor, atleast I thought it was, I didnt take a big look under the hood as I was busy fixing my own issues, well some of them atleast! --------------------

Man, you guys sure like to be negative. Go read up on what a stock H22 normally pulls on the dyno and then talk. I think I know a little more about them than you. 185 at the wheels for a stock motor with a intake and exhaust is a good number. Plus I was being nice and giving the guy props for dynoing and having that motor in a del sol.
H22 Flywheel Ratings: USDM H22 (10:1) 190 HP @ 6800 rpm 158 TQ @ 5500 rpm JDM H22 (10.6:1) 197 HP @ 6800 rpm 161 TQ @ 5500 rpm That would mean he is making around 15 hp more than the JDM motor. Oh well... I'm sure Rizzo won't let me down at the track -------------------- |

Its cool. I wasn't trying to be cocky about my H22 knowledge. Its just that I know that motor inside and out and what it does hp wise stock and with mods. I was mainly saying good job to the kid who owns it and I bet that car is quick (high 13's) for just a swap and stock engine.
On topic... we should edit the first post to have a listing of the dyno results and the car/engine they had. -------------------- |

Here's what I found: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "was looking at stock mostly stock h22a dyno charts, motors ranging from 1994-99, and they were putting out all different kinda of numbers like anywhere from 155whp to 185 whp..." "my 92/93 h22a put down 176 hp and 152 ft/lbs with high miles egr system not working, with an intake and exhaust only" http://www.the car that we shall not name-highend of the car that we shall not name.net/forums/archive/...hp/t-98185.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2.2 ltr H22A 2003 185 HP JDM H22A 2003 192 HP H22A 2003 184 HP H22A 2003 164 HP JDM H22A 2003 170 HP H22A 2003 204 HP H22A 2003 176 HP H22A 2003 177 HP Prelude VTEC 2003 165 HP H22A 2003 206 HP JDM H22A 2003 191 HP JDM H22A 2003 166 HP JDM H22A 2003 172 HP the car that we shall not name Prelude JDM 5/8/01 166 HP Prelude Type SH 5/8/01 155 HP Prelude JDM 5/8/01 187 HP 1994 JDM H22A 11/23/00 170 HP 1995 H22A 11/23/00 190.8 HP 99 Prelude 10/28/00 164 HP 96 H22A 10/16/00 178 HP JDM H22A 10/7/00 166.5 HP 93 VTEC H22A 10/7/00 174.3 HP 1994 H22A1 9/24/00 199 HP 1993 JDM H22A 9/20/00 165.4 HP 1994 H22A 9/20/00 176.4 HP 95H22A 9/14/00 162.8 HP Dynos and dates of NA H22's from http://www.importreview.com/d_2.2.html Individual mods and charts available at the link ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Personally, it seems with a 197hp (assuming most swaps are getting JDM motors) starting point. I'd expect it to bump to somewhere around 220 at the crank after intake, header, exhaust, + basic mods (not positive what all he had done as I was a bit busy that day). Take off a 15% drivetrain loss from there and you've got 187 (assuming my poor math skills are up to par). Not that it's not an improvement over stock but that it should be pretty much what's expected. Everyone's point I believe it that it was nothing shocking. What did your latest install and dyno tune of that H22 yield? Also, you have to remember that you're on a DSM site here. So most of us do the mental math on the cost of the swap, exhaust work, etc and realize that we can make much better numbers on DSMs. Just another way to look at it from most of our perspectives. Take it for what you will. -------------------- |

LOL!!!! All that just to try and prove me wrong and you still didn't. I don't care what your hours of internet "research" try to show. I know Jeff at Import Builders/Import Review and if you acutally look at the dynos on that site, there wasn't one over 180 that didn't have something other than intake, header, and exhaust done. Most with intake, header, and exhaust made 165-175. Fact is, 184 is a good number for a H22 with just intake, header, and exhaust. And I'm not going to waste my time going around the internet looking for stuff to back up my statements.
Since you asked... The H22 we just did made 185 whp and 155 ft-lbs with a OEM ITR intake, Greddy header, Invidia exhaust, and R&D Auto tuned V-AFC The 155 ft-lbs is also a lot more than most make with those mods or at 185 whp. More info... http://www.rndauto.com/tom.htm Where did this become a Honduh vs DSM / Money vs Performance thread? You guys seem hell bent on proving me wrong when all I was trying to do was say good job to the kid that had the car. Let it go. -------------------- |
