Both are automatics, but he has that Tip-Tronic shit so he can basically shift it like a manual.

His mods: Injen Intake, and Magnaflow Muffler

My mods: none, bone stock

Are you serious?

Dstock: You _should_ walk that car, regardless of mods. Do the free-mods to your auto, and it will be that much more severe.

No kidding. That Sratus prolly weighs twice what a DSM does to begin with, not to mention the fact that it's completely N/A with two mods that won't do a damn thing for him against a turbocharged engine.

It'll be the most fun if you keep it even until 2nd, and when he goes for 3rd, you just wrap out second with all that beautiful boost, and he'll see nothing but taillights. Kind of like a cat playing with it's food.

Or, just smash him off the line so's he cant tell his buddies that he "almost had you". rolleyes.gif

What excatly are these "free mods" I hear about. I'm new to DSM's so I have no clue what I need to do to it.

We kind of raced the other day just driving around, but not really. We just kinda hit it at around 60'ish and I was pullin the whole time until around 100 and he caught up and passed me... mad.gif

free mods consist of removing emissions, hacking the MAF (removing outer canister, removing lower honey comb and silencer if you are getting fuel cut, more can be done the the 1G MAF but that is the easy stuff), boost controllers can be had for super cheap or made for cheaper ($5-10 at a hardware store), dropping the cat/catback for races smile.gif, crushing the BOV to hold more boost after supporting mods are put on, porting if you feel comfortable doing it, the list goes on and on.

His weight: 3,200 empty
Mine: 2,800 empty

Maybe your thinking of the sedan?

http://www.buschurracing.com/upgrade.html

www.vfaq.com

If you go to vfaqs > dsm site modification > top ten most frequently asked questions... a couple of the freebies are listed in there.

Here's a couple of links dstock to get yourself learning about mods and in what order/sequence.

He probably passed you due to the fact he has more top end power and you have more mid range power. So when you race do it from a dead stop or a 20mph roll and you should kill him in a 1/4 mi. run after that he may catch up and pass you but who cares you already beat him. LOL! So go destroy him.

Thanks for the links xian 1g.

Temp_Me96: As soon as I get my tires rotated I'm gonna race him from a dead stop. If I did it right now, I'd just spin my tires entirely too much.

I'll let you guys know what happens, smile.gif

...I hope I kill him and get some braggin' rights. cool.gif
