I actually think it will be a fairly light car considering the amount of carbon fiber they are using in it. Practically the whole thing is carbon fiber.

no its like cindy crawfords ass when she was like 20 . but carbon fiber is hella light but what would happen if like it cracked or some shit.. i bet it would be hella expensive to replace.

how much better does it get???

good looking car, good HP, sexy body lines, CF, AWD

The only reason that I can see Mitsu not producing the car is the same reason that Chevrolet wouldn't put the same HP/handling from the Corvette into the Camaro.... how can you sell a $60,000 Vette with 400 ponies if you sell a $25,000 Camaro with the same HP/handling???

How can Mitsu sell a $32,000 EVO if they sell an Eclipse with the same platform for less than the EVO.....

Manufaturers can never top their flagship or they loose the flagship.

Thus why the T-Type and Grand National got cut out of GM's lineup within a few years. The GN cars were faster and were extremely under-rated in order to keep the Corvette at the top of the pedestal.

Well, considering a fully loaded Eclipse GT price out between 28 and 29 grand now, I doubt Mitsu would sell a GSX version for less than 32 grand.

It'd be really nice if they could find something to compete with the Neon SRT-4. Turbocharged four-cylinder coupe for under $25k

I dont see and issue here.
The galant vr4 4, Eclipse GSX, and 3000gt VR4 were all made the same year... If anything I think it would rekindly mitsu's wayward business...

That and if they would be so stringent on warranty work.

galant VR4 = 4 door sedan, AWD, AWS, 4G63t
Eclipse GSX = 2 door coupe, AWD, 4G63t
3000GT VR4 = 2 door coupe, AWD, AWS, TT

all three had different benefits to offer to the market... for a different price

new Eclipse GSX = 4G63t, AWD
Lancer evolution = 4G63t, AWD

two cars with the exact same platform, different styling, and most likely different prices..... the more expensive of the two won't sell, thats all I am trying to say.

if they sold both cars side by side and priced them identically, they would both sell.

Eclipse GSX concept = 2 door coupe, AWD, 4g63t
Lancer Evolution = 4 door sedan, AWD, 4g63t

Similar drivetrains and engines sure, but that does not mean the same platform. The Evo is based on the Lancer chassis, while the Eclipse is based off the Eclipse chassis. Lancer is a 4 door sedan, Eclipse is a 2 door sports coupe. Two different platforms. Subaru does it with the Impreza, Outback, Legacy, and Baha. Same engine, same drivetrain, different platform, different prices.

the car looks really sweet.......until you see the rear end. It's kind of like seeing a girl with a really great looking body and then she turns around and you say OMG then turn your head and close your eyes because it just ruined the whole picture for you. Flatten the rear end between the taillights and I would say it was one of the nicest cars i've seen in a long time.
