I'm mainly interested for the vr4, but I figure this is revalent to DSM's also.

Supra TT vs Walbro 255 vs 3000gt vs stock.

I thought I remember seeing some flow charts or something on the different pumps, can't remember where now.

Basically, what's each good up to? Best flow rate?

Good thread AWD DSM 1! I'd be interested in seeing those flow charts too.

Ok, the Supra pump is darn near the best flowing pump but, how much is too much for the (Aeromotive) fuel pressure regulator to return to the tank? I don't want to get this thing on and have it overrunning the AFPR. I would like to know where the Walbro 255 lines up with those as well if anybody has any test data on it.

Either of these look like the right supra pump?

That second one definitely does not look like the correct one (it doesn't look like it to me anyway). The top one looks correct.

Any idea about my question?

Wouldn't that depend on your fuel lines, especially the return line? Or am I way off, here?

Anyone know if an AFPR would be a must on a 3/s with a supra fuel pump. I know that most peoplestrongly urge it on the 255 pumps in the DSM's...

I would have to say yes. Being that the Supra pump is a higher volume pump than the Walbro pump, I'd still have to say you need an afpr for it. Don't go the cheap route Rob! It'll only get you in trouble.

BTW, if you need some more cash for this project of yours I may need some more work done in the coming months. rolleyes.gif

I've got an itchy wallet and the car monkeys are once again humping my back. The transmission is aching for a rebuild and I really don't want to pull it apart by myself again. AND when the time comes to do the rebuild, it's not going back together stock!

That and I really want to find this oil leak. I know the valve cover filter is leaking a bit but, it can't be slinging all this oil into the curve on the intake manifold. Anyway, I'm buying a beater today. It's Dan's favorite color....purple. '96 Pontiac Sunfire 2.4L auto GT with a gagillion miles for $325. It's one that we got in at work through the police auction in town. Needs a fuel pump to run and that's it. So.....that leaves the Talon open for some downtime.

Good! That'll give me plenty of time to save more money (or tear more stuff up depending on how you look at it) for more stuff. I.E. suspension, drivetrain, and fuel mods.

So the 3/s cars have a switch for low/high fuel pump voltage from the factory?

Yes but, as it says it's only a type of band-aid.

Rob, I'm serious. Your VR-4 is GOING to run at the track and it's going to cut a 13 second pass. I don't care if I have to fund it myself. This driving around in a Cavalier that says DSM KLR on the liscense plate isn't going to cut it! New house or not there's no excuse with that 3 car garage.
