I am getting ready to get my block done and was wondering what you guys thought was a good machine shop around central illinois. I ordered the topline rebuild kit with the .20 over pistons and Im also going to get my crank shaft resurfaced. Places and prices would be great.

The Car Shop in Moline does lots of work on 4G63's and they also build strokers for us too.
I havent heard anything bad about them either. Their website is: http://www.thecarshopinc.com -------------------- 1992 TSi AWD, Auto swapped

Don't get it turned... most people don't have good luch with them after they've been turned. A polish should do the trick unless it spun a bearing. If you don't have to turn the crank then don't. FYI - Precision has run many 4G63 cranks in their Hornet cars without any trouble. My 2.4 is still running the 10 under crank. All Precision had to do was polish it. They feel I shouldn't have any problem with it, and I haven't for the first 800 miles. We'll see what happens after I start pouring the boost on it though. BTW - Darryl tells me that Buscher uses turned cranks in their standard rebuilds, but only factory spec cranks for their race engines. -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo

You know I wasn't trying to be an ass.
But it is easier to punch in ten numbers than it is all those letters you used to type your question, LOL! And plus you get to talk to someone. -------------------- |
