Hey everyone I'm new here, I just thought I'd say hi! Have any of you successfully swapped a 4g63 exhaust manifold and turbo onto a 4g64? If so, what all is involved in doing the swap?

Welcome to dsmcentral Albert. I think I can safely say that no one on this board has swapped a turbo onto a 4G64, but I have a link to a looong thread on dsmtalk that you may be interested in. There is a lot of good info on it. Grab a six-pack of cold ones cuz this thread will take you a long time to read through.

Hey Thanks for the link. One question I have...where did you get "Albert"? Maybe putting "newbie alert" threw you off. Anyway I'm Brian, but most people call me Bri. biggrin.gif

Thanks for the welcome guys...I can tell already that I've found a cool place to hang out. Nate, if I skip class tonight to read all 17 pages of that discussion...I'm blaming you! L8R

Harford on the Hill? Where the heck is that? Actually UIS is my home until spring of '04. I'm a business major who's just trying to get the heck done so I can move on to grad school. As far as the 4g64, it's in a '95 Galant LS. Nothing stellar by any means, but it's been a good car and it presently has 142,000 on the odo. Since the body is still in pristine condition I've kicked around the idea of maybe doing a rebuild at 200K and putting a DOHC head and turbo on. Only prob is the auto trannies suck...already had a rebuild at 119,000.

Harvard on the hill is a nickname for Illinois Central College (ICC) in East Peoria.

I applaud your interest in creating a turbocharged 4G64. Quite a few guys on dsmtalk are doing it and it doesn't seem that hard. I know Marco from Magnus motorsports is currently running 9's on his stroker. Of course he has many other upgrades to help him get there. You will have a few extra challenges in front of you though. Basically supporting mods and like you mentioned, the dreaded Mitsubishi/Chrysler transmission.
