I have a 2g intake manifold that Im going to port the hell out of and put on the awd. Not sure what all I have to do to make it work though, does it just bolt right on or do i have to switch out some things? Any help will greatly be appreciated.

you need to do some more research, but the short answer on this is that you're not going to gain much with this 'mod'.
the 2g intake manifolds were designed with port velocity in mind, which is why 2g heads and intakes had smaller cross-sectional area than 1g's. Most guys go with 1g heads and 1g intake manifolds on their 2g's for a performance upgrade though the benefits of this on a relatively mildly modified 4g63 is still questionable. Basically, it's not nearly so simple as hogging the thing out with a grinder and more than likely you'll end up hurting performance. There's a reason why porting is considered by many to be a black art and to do this properly you'd need a lot more information, skill, and access to tools like a flow bench. -------------------- my cars breath smells like car food

akamiami is right, porting is sort of a "black art". I would just do a gasket match type port job. Put the exhaust gasket on the manifold and open up the port to match the gasket. Then blend it into the runner, you don't need to go very far in.

You're right about the gasket matching technique, black92, but he was talking about doing the intake manifold. I'm pretty sure there's a significant advandage to even port matching the exhaust side rather than the intake side on a turbo setup. Travis, you're better off finding something with a better payoff to spend your time on.

How high are you planning on reving? If you aren't going to go over 7500 then you will gain no power and lose torque with a short runner intake manifold. The stocker flows pretty well.

Not necessarily. There are dyno sheets for both the Forrester and Magnus intake manifolds that show definite gains in both hp and torque below 7.5K RPM without sacrificing anything on the low end. It is true though that the higher you can rev the more power you will see from a short runner intake manifold...if you're engine is set up properly for high revs, that is.

are you wanting your car to run faster than a low 10? If your not then just go with a 1G intake manifold.
