just picked this up today and all I can say is WOW this thing looks awsome. should have it installed this weekend. it's a stage 2+ and I can't wait to unleash the GVR4's full power

Looks like a 6puck sprung disk and a nice pressure plate. Break-in procedure is critical to clutch life expectancy.

I just installed a stage 3+ in my 90 today accually. its the furamic full face disc (excuse me if i spelled that wrong) and a Steel ACT flywheel.
i like my stage 3 +... did not like my stage 3 though, the 6 puck clutch front and back chattered big time, then it ended up poping a spring out... hopfully with the kevlar on the one side of yours makes it all good for u. |

Just make sure you have your flywheel resurfaced and it should be all good.

Good! Make sure when you do the clutch install as well, that you do the washer pivot ball fix (with a new pivot ball, my mistake), a new clutch fork wouldn't be a bad idea, stainless clutch line, new fluid, and when you get it installed, check the pedal height and disengagement. I had mundo problems with my clutch pedal assembly being really worn out and the master cyl. and slave cyl. leaking. So, I've got every possible modification to the clutch line you could ever have done.

What bad things have you "heard" about aluminum flywheels? There are plenty of members here that have aluminum flywheels (including me) that have no problems with them.

The ACT flywheels are made of chromoly steel.
We lost a race in Bristol last year win our aluminum fidanza flywheel broke. The center section was left on the crank. Doesn't become an issue most cases. -------------------- |

yeah... ok. the picture is not a dsm flywheel... threw me off. thats the one i just put in my car, i like so far. havnt gotten on it cause of breaking it in, but just driving it seems like the car revs smoother and less vibration

You should get a scatter shield if your gonna go with a lightweight flywheel.

The aftermarket ones stay together ok, it's the stock ones that have been lightend that tend to come apart and greneade into the passenger seat. well it took forever but the new clutch and flywheel have been installed. a big thanx to asinkid, spy, ncgalant and scorp for lending a hand with the install. and from what I can tell this clutch will grab instantly, I damn near stall the car every time I take off
 I just can't wait till I am able to see what it's made of. Adam what the hell was you saying about a piece of plastic under my car

So far I dig our SPEC Stage 3+ and aluminum flywheel.I've only gotten 2 real good launches with it but they felt pretty damn good.

^^^ Believe me, it was hard not to test it out before I got mine broke in. I waited about 1500 miles before I started launching it. Others have said more or less. I've never had a Spec clutch but, I would think that they have a manufacturer's reccomended break-in time.
