Ok, I should have went with 550's but i knew that some day I would want to go extreme so I bought 650's a few months back. Im going to install them on my AWD this weekend along with my walbro 255 hp fuel pump and an aem fuel rail. Also new fuel filter. I am currently in the process of looking for a afpr also. what would be a good psi to run on a ported 14b and o2 housing. Also would it be a bad idea if i didnt hook up my translator right away since im still learning how to use it.
any input will be appreciated. Im trying to get it ready for slowpony day and Im sick of looking at all my parts sitting in my room doing nothing. Thanks, Travis -------------------- "One of the most Crazy and Undecisive Members in central Illinois"

You won't be able to run bigger injectors without some way of controling them.

turbohcar has a AFPR for sale.
Now as for hooking up the apexi. I would, just like AWD DSM said you are going to have to have a way to control the air to fuel. Hook it up! -------------------- |

AFPR
Eprom ECU w/ 780cc chip 780cc injectors 255lph HP Walbro pump rewired GM MAFT w/ intercooler pipes setup I've got plenty of fuel and tuning parts. Basically all I'm missing is a wideband. LMK -------------------- "I hear he tunes the space shuttle also...and that thing is fast"

Didn't you say you were going to run a GM translator? If so then that will do fine. With a 14b, 550s will be more than enough. If you run into troubles with to much timing on the 650s, you'll want to turn the fuel pressure down to ~30psi and tune them like 550s. You won't want to go much lower than that though. The spray pattern will start to degrade.

Nate, I think he was asking how much boost he could run (psi). And to me it sounded like he wanted to run the 650's without the translator.

I didn't see the part about not running the translator. That will NOT work at all. You might be able to hack the MAF enough to get it to run in closed loop, but as soon as you went over 40% throttle it would bog under all of the extra fuel.

on a 14b, 16-17psi is the most you will want to run if you want the turbo to last. Stock turbo fuel pressure is 38psi. I was suggesting to run 30psi because 650s are a little big for a 14b and might net you to much timing, causing knock. Like I had said before, I'll help you out with the translator tuning if you need to get a baseline.

My point was that you can't put larger than stock injectors in a car without doing SOMETHING. 650cc injectors in a stock car = way rich.
