Can anyone give me the settings for a MAFT v1.3 running 550s? Just the flat, baseline settings that you start from, nothing specific. Also, I know what each knob controls, but if someone could tell me which direction is lean, rich and so on, that would be helpful. I seem to have lost my instruction manual. Thanks.

It's not. Multiple problems springing up all over the place. Wheels falling off, exhaust coming apart in the middle of the street, you know, that sort of stuff. mad.gif

Well, I suppose it's time to officially announce it: Goat's Bane is back on the streets! Not in the shape I'd prefer, but I need to get some fun out of this car to maintain my motivation for working on it. I've been correcting boost leaks as they've been found, replacing worn bolts, and generally taking it easy while I find out what needs to be tweeked.

I ended up tapping the tranny for a 1/2" coarse thread bolt 1 1/2" long. Holds mighty fine. The main problems I need to correct right now are tuning, replacing the o-ring on the biss, and replacing orings, nut and lockwasher on the power steering pump (it leaks a bit under hard turning). It also feels like the tie rods are out of whack (steering jumps a bit when you hit a pothole), so it could use an alignment or whatever else you guys might know for a cheap home-job alignment.

But in light of Kicks GETTING kicked in the yam sack by the DSM gods yet again, things are going really well for me. I won't make SCDC, but that was never a goal of mine, so no loss there. I'll keep reports coming in.

Won't make SCDC?? Why not, if it's running take it to the track! Best place to tune anyway biggrin.gif At least I hope so, I'll be tuning mine there! I've learning tuning seems to be a art (or witchcraft...)

Check the tie rod ends for the "jumping". I had a set once that were loose fit (worn) in the steering arms. Caused some wierd issues with bumps.

Simple lack of interest, I suppose. Not to mention the fact that my clutch is no where near broken in.

How many miles do you have to drive to break in the clutch???

Hell, take it out and tune it! I think I put enough miles on mine screwing with the translator that I could have broken in a new clutch!!

Hell, Spy "clam" comment would be enough to get me pissed off enough to go!!

typically 500 miles is reccomended. I'm tring to put some miles on my clutch also.

Honestly and in all seriousness, I know how it feels goat, I've been there. My advise would be to drive the car up, and either spectate, or just cruise it down the track a couple times for kicks. It does wonders for getting the motivation built back up!

Brought this back to the surface for a little troubleshooting. I mentioned earlier that my oil pressure seemed high on the factory guage, which i understand is unrelaiable. With a good guage installed, what pressure levels are acceptable for a 6-bolt with the BS shafts removed?

I think this heightened pressure may be causing a gasket failure on the oil filter housing.

Mine (w/shaft removed) runs about 20psi at idle and 75 at 3000 rpm. Measured on a Autometer gauge.

I see similar pressures on an autometer guage. However I have seen the pressure spike to 100 at full throttle though it comes right back down around 80.
