not sure what's been done, but I can show you a few tricks to clean up your engine bay in a way that makes wrenching a hundred times easier.

Bigg thing now is the DS CV shaft... best option i've found thus far is autozone for $100. Advance could get it, in 2-3 weeks....

Well that sucks. Either way remember both of those places price match so if it's cheaper at Advance make sure you tell them that. I can try and check at my Advance but the furthest out part we list would be 3-5 business days and I can't see that CV shaft being that big of a deal to get. I could probably get it for $80 or less for you if Autozone has it for $100.

actually had one moron tell me that they were "almost impossible" to find. I've found it at all but one autoparts place I called. None in stock of course. Napa was actually the cheapest, but for some reason I didn't exactly trust the hillbilly sounding guy on the other end....

I assume that's a 91 VR4? That's what it looked like the last time I saw it anyway. I'll look it up for that and if it's wrong I'll just call them back.
