lets take a small census of who is doing what these days.....

I guess I will start off...

The Mutant GSX looks to be securely holding her position in my stable for the time being (That is until she pisses me off again)

- new things happening include trying to get her set up for the autoX in November
that means a AFPR, hooked up saleen fuel pressure guage, new spoiler, some custom brake venting, Prelude seats installed, and rear seat temperarily removed.

The Fiero leaves tomorrow..... yeah!!!!!!

whoa shit.... did I miss something??? Kris sold the GSX, Nate is looking at selling the TSi.... Marcus, weren't you looking to sell off a week or so ago too.... where the hell is Spy?????

We've been playing the DSM game longer than most on here. Kicks, Miami, and I have been with DSMcentral since the begininng in 2001. That's a long time to wrestle with DSM's.

I think the board itself has grown into something great and should remain DSMCentral forever. I've made many friends on here and plan to continue making this my number one go to board no matter what I'm driving at the time.

I think I came on shortly after the board was started... I still remember the yahoo group, that was a blast. Back then we were still breaking new ground.

Currently I'm concentrating on Shamou, the overweight excusee for a car (3000gt vr4). Car's got a long history with the group, part of the reason I choose to keep it rather than the Talon I built this summer.

Personally, I'm getting tired of working on cars, and look forward to relaxing and spending some time with the kids this winter.

I'm thinking the same thing!

It seems to have been a loooong year for most on this board. Myself included, starting off the year with a broken crank and the resultant rebuild.

I think the winter break will do everyone some good and recharge the batteries!!

I'd been at mine for quite some time as well and it was getting a bit redundant trying to fix it 11.5 months of the year.

I just got finished having this conversation with my boss actually. Life is short. Too short not to enjoy the many things at your disposal. So go out and experience them but don't let your friends down. Hence the reason I don't plan on leaving the DSMCentral Clan anytime soon. Sorry guys, you're not getting rid of me!

To me working on, and figuring out how to make a car faster and/or better is a major point of gratification for me. Don't get me wrong, it needs to be balanced out with my other love... Driving to N-th degree of my ability and the cars control. Needess to say I haven't gotten to do that in a while. So I do grow weary at times. wink.gif

I'm not wired the same as the masses though. I knew a long time ago that I will be doing this kind of thing long after most have moved on to other things. I can't help it, my brain is constantly revolving around cars, engines or the combination. Even when I'm trying to think about other things! It's a sickness I'm sure. I damn near go stir crazy when I don't have a car project ot think about.

This is why the DSM has fit so nicely into my life. If I wanted something that was easy to work on and figure out...I would still be working on V8's all the time. ph34r.gif

Hello, my name is Marcus and I have a car abuse problem. laugh.gif

I will update you all on my next move as soon as I decide for sure. In the mean time I've been disassembling my 1949 Ford Flathead V8 to send off to be machined for an eventual place in my '46 Ford truck.

I am parting out Stitch, I am not supposed to have this car or something. I am out of money and time to work on her. I have had more problems with this one than I did the 1G that I had.

So I figure I will sell all and start over when the time is right. I am not saying goodbye to DSM's, But taking a much needed break from them.

Thanks, Bud!

Yep, sold the GSX... well, you know how DSM sales go, I basically took a little bit of cash, took some parts off the car that would be semi-easy to sell, and took the title on an 02 GSXR600 Telefonica. just your standard barter session.

Still have the Evo though and though my Baby Kahuna turbo from SBR turned out to be a monster turd, I now have a 3076R to put on there when I get back to the states. I guess I didn't learn my lessons very well on Analube, I'm still making the same old mistakes.

Other than that, I've been working over in England and I'll be here till the end of the year at the very least. Doesn't leave me much of an opportunity to do much with cars, but aside from that, it's not bad. That's what's up with me.

Unless your car is packing 1.21 jigga-watts of power thanks to Mr. Fusion, I don't think you have much hope of traveling back in time to get your car done by July of this year.....buuuut GOOD LUCK!

Not that I'm a big part of the "community" around here, but I've been laying very low as well. Got the car up and running moderately well- and even that may be a sever overstatement- but there's so much left to do. Got a kid on the way, need to build a nursery, ect. Seriously considering selling the car off and walking away from the whole thing. I've just got too many other hobbies to balance, and a child won't help the situation.

I've been in school and workin' on the Dime.

Lowered it 4" all around and put in a stereo system. Alarm coming soon, too.

18's next summer. WOOT WOOT.

My love will still be turbo'd imports, though.

I agree! I am still young, granite Im married, but I would die of boredom if I didnt have a car to work on. I have been around cars my whole life and its in my blood. The only difference between my elders and me are they build muscle cars and I build DSM's.

So basically I am stuck on the dsm scene for probably many more years to come , although ive only been in it for about 1.5 years so far but its been FUN!!!!
I love the feeling of walking a v8 who thinks he something and gets beat by a four cylinder.

Thanks,
Travis

I'm pretty new on here too. My car spun a rod bearing a while back now and so I am finally starting on the rebuild (My first one!). Stock internals, ARP hardware, BS removal, Ported Big16g, FMIC (As seen in NEW TOYS thread), 850cc Injectors, DSMlink, Walboro 255, AEM afpr, Prothane Motor Mounts, Need to get my new Tokico Illuminas on as well as my new exhaust, might do some porting, DKS cams, Skunk2 Cam gears, Apexi Turbotimer. Pretty long list I know... Hoping for it to be done by the summertime, although I am sure that's impossible. I'm really busy with school and work. Would anyone be interested in helping me?

Guess I'll have a go...

I was involved in an accident in my 97 GST about the middle of July. Thought it might be a total loss, but luckily the insurance company didn't see it that way. It seemed like it was at Tatmans forever! wacko.gif but I've finally got her back now. The wreck was just the excuse I'd been looking for to ditch the ricey Blitz kit (thank goodness). Seeing it at the shop, I couldn't help myself and I ended up having the whole car resprayed (factory color) Dupont Northstar white. Looks sooo good now... fresh paint, no dents. biggthumpup.gif Anyways, I've had it back about a about a month now, and I've found time to work on it a little bit. This past month I've added Tein S Tech springs, Tenzo R wheels, and a RRE (cat-delete) downpipe. I've got more stuff coming before the cold months... namely GReddy IC pipes and Type S BOV, but they aren't here yet.
