pretty much got the EVO III 16G /550 injectors boost and fuel tuning complete... boosting 18 psi with next to no knock and no fuel cuts or any other issues, brakes done, interior done, suspension close aside from a larger front swaybar and possibly some adjustable struts....
the major project that I am looking at next is the stroker build that I am about to get started as soon as I can get down to peoria and pick up the parts from you kicks.

that honestly probably won't get built until the end of next summer/fall at the earliest... hopefully installed over winter next year... I'll be running this old stock '93 7 bolt until then....

Currently driving the GSX as my daily driver but with a decent amount of mods. I plan on getting something in the SUV field for a daily driver come spring and taking the GSX a little farther. As of now the mods are as follows:

rebuilt 6 bolt
HKS 264* cams
3" T&D turboback exhaust
EvoIII 16g, fully ported, externally gated
SBR stainless steel tubular header w/ wg tube
Turbosmart ultragate 38mm wastegate
SS oil feedline w/ earls inline filter
K&N intake filter
Joe P. mbc
KYB GR2 shocks
walbro 265 high pressure pump
triple "A" pod w/ -
autometer cobalt digital tach with shift lite
autometer cobalt boost/vac gauge
autometer sportcomp oil pressure gauge

I also currently have the following parts sitting in the basement to build my race motor:
6 bolt block and crank
Weisco pistons
Eagle H beam rods
Buschur racing stageIII cylinder head
Mitsu 4 layer steel headgasket
ARP headstuds
and more..........................

My plans for 08 are to build the race motor and get a tranny built by IPT. I plan on driving the car for a few months with its current setup at about 16psi and keeping it as a decent daily driver.

Now that Mitsu and Dynoflash have the beast in undriveable shape as a DD, I'd like to get it back to DD shape with an option to run some race gas and find the limits of the li'l snail inside.

I think this'll be a trip to Chi-town with a likely upgrade to a front LSD at the same time.

All contingent on funding and time.

I want 11's from a track rapist, that's all.

Sounds like it will be a formidable set-up Slacker83! What year and model do you have? You should post up the specs in the garage with pic's and start a project thread so we can keep up with you on your progress.

Good to hear from you! biggthumpup.gif

The stroker will make a WORLD of difference in off idle power. I wish I could have made mine work out. It will be much better for auto-cross and more instant power for street driving.

I also think that the E3 16G will be able to provide the early boost to help the stroker make a lot of low end torque... might just be a perfect match

Treydawg your set-up should work really well. Heck, I'd just like to see you keep one long enough to enjoy it!

Kazz - Your EVO is mean, I think hitting 11's was one of the harder things I've done without professional help, but I have a feeling your car can get there.

Kapoosh, your car has already impressed the shit out of me. I think going straight to AMS has cut out much needless trial and error for you. biggthumpup.gif

If I keep my car, my plans would be to get a known managment system on it like DSMlink or the EMS unit and take it to AMS for a solid tune or two and some rock hard dyno numbers.

After the auto-x I feel very comfortable with the engine and transmission that I am now running. With a great tune I think the combo will really shine.

The next major task would be to make it road corse worthy. In that case I would upgrade the brakes and then get a hold of RRE to upgrade the suspension similar to what they did for Scott Gray's 11.9 second DSM for the SCC competition.

That is a LOT more money to drop into a car that already has twice what it's worth invested in it. So the jury is still out on which way I will go.

Mine's up in the air right now.

All the problems replacing the cylinder head kicked the sh$t out of me and I haven't really touched the engine. I know I need to get the cylinder head drilled out correctly for the studs and I need to check the cam bearing clearances. I can't beleive Mitsu quality control didn't catch the miss drilled head bolt holes. I haven't even dropped the pan yet to check the main bearing to make sure the screw oil passage didn't cause damage there. I doubt it though.

Are far as mods...I still need to find a new 14b center section at the very least and if money supports it a 16g could be in order....

I definitely plan on trying some autocross, so I better finish redoing the rear suspension bearing to get the alignment to spec.

a properly adjusted alignment makes all the difference in the world....

although because auto cross is pretty much all I do with the GSX anymore (and it gets trailered to the track) I have been running front camber @ -1.5 and rear camber @ -2.0.... seems to work well for me so far

It is a 96 awd talon, I have a cobra that I am going to be chasing down this spring so I am shooting for a mid to low 12 second pass out of it. I will try to document the build for must of it because the car is pretty stock.

My car is where I want it now, for now. As soon as summer hits and I can work full time I'm going with a Green or PTE 50 trim and cams.
