Thanks to everyone for coming out to the track today. The shear number of people showing up to race was shocking and appreciated. We ended up with just under 120 racers, which unfortunately meant the track had to bring in more personnel and bump the cost up considerably.
Even so, Josh and I really appreciated everyone making the trip so we used the extra money to increase the payouts on all three competitions to $125 for first place and $75 for runner up. We also increased the race time to 5pm so everyone could get in all their runs since the lines were a bit congested for the first couple of hours. There were more folks that took advantage of the competitions at no additional cost, but still not nearly as many as you would think. The winners seemed extremely happy with their winnings and everyone that I spoke with said they had a good time! I got to run Josh's gold nugget a couple times down the track. The best I could muster was a 11.07 at 124mph. The 60ft. weren't so great at 1.6s when they should have been 14-1.50's. The thing was just spinning out of the hole too much. I was so busy keeping things running I didn't even get the Talon tech'd or make a pass in it. Still, I had a great time and the weather was beautiful. Thanks to everyone that joined us! We will have to set-up pre-registration next year to make sure we keep the number of racers at a manageable level. Bad runs but great times! My son had a good time, too. It was good to see my neighbors in action, finally, on their drag bikes!
