Scorp will also try to locate a second digital video camera to get a different view of the entire racing event.  We will eventually combine and edit these videos into a single 'Imports-gone-wild' documentary!  wink.gif

I located a DVC, (on the shelf at Wally World smile.gif ) so now we will be able to have more than one view. I didn't have enough money to buy another battery after buying the camera and a few other misc. things, (f'n ex taking all of my stuff mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif ) so I'll only be able to get a couple of hours worth of video. Unless there is a plug in within about 5' of where I will be standing smile.gif

QUOTE (mark95turbo @ Sep 18 2003, 09:57 PM)
Well, I wont be there anymore. I got the tranny out and got the clutch assembly in and all together, but we couldnt get the tranny back in with the crappy jack I had. Unless I can get it back in by myself tomorrow, theres no way that I'll be there on Sunday. sad.gif

Sure fire way to get an AWD tranny in by yourself. I know its a heavy SOB. Jack the car up as high as you can. Slide and position the tranny underneath so the bell housing would be nearly touching the pressure plate. Keep an eye on the front and back side because it is a tight fit. Lower the car on the jack as far as possiblewhile keeping an watchful eye on the tranny and the lowering car to make sure you don't crush anything. This should put the tranny right next to the engine so you should only have to lift it a few inches. Now here's the hard part. From here you have two choices. The hard short way or the easy long way.

Hard short way: bend over the tranny side of the car and give the tranny the ole heave-ho until the shaft slides in the hole. (Calm down guys, I'm talking about transmissions here)

Easy long way: It long because you have to remove the battery tray (if you haven't already, and you have to drain the radiator and remove it. But, what this allows you to do is step inside the engine compartment with the tranny underneath you for much better leverage. Put your right foot on the front crossmember and your left foot on the ground if it will fit or on the subframe member with the steer rack underneath. Find a couple of good hand holds on the tranny and lift her up and onto the engine.

Hope this helps.

possably bad news guys sad.gif

my sincronizer is going out on 2nd gear in the gsx. mad.gif

since this is my daily driver i'm not sure weather to race it in this condition. also another not so new problem resurfaced again today, maybe someone can help me with this one.

when i shifted into third merging onto the interstae on my way to work today my boost built up, and then my car misfired bad enough to damn near throw me into my steering wheel.
i have NGK R plugs and NGK wires on it and that really helped last time i was having this problem, but i wouldnt think that they would go bad already, ive only had them on the car for 2 months, help me out guys so maybe i can race on sunday unsure.gif

Just take it easy on 2nd... you'll be fine.

Your "misfire" almost sounds like fuel cut.... What are your mods and what rpm/boost were you at when it happened? Fuel cut is when the ECU shuts off fuel for a breif period of time because it sees too much air. Feels like the car shuts off for a second at WOT.

That spike is probably what's killing you... need to port the o2 housing probably.

Bring it up Sunday and there will be plenty of people to help diagnose it!! biggrin.gif

has anyone heard a pretty close count on how many people are going sunday?just curious.i fought a program problem with the car last night for several hours, but after a conversation with mike laskey he talked me into leaving it.we have had a problem building boost on the starting line and we have been suffering a major bog.we were leaving on about 7psi and it needs to be between 8-10psi.i have played with the program and now its making almost 15psi.WAY TO MUCH!i cant find a happy medium,i hope its not to violent.it sounds as if it may be.oh well they will here the backfires on the two step for miles around tommorrow!it ought to be interesting.

cant wait to see everyone.

Well...good luck guys! And have fun!

My car is having some serious electrical issues and therefore will not crank. Should have known better than to buy a '90. I'll be checking to see if there are any good condition '90 wiring harnesses out there because the '91 I took from Dan's car isn't going to work. If I can find one, Travis, I may take you up on the '90 power transistor, throttle body, and CAS. I should have something going for Vicary day, whether it be this car or a whole new chassis.

Sorry I've been too busy getting my Talon running over the past couple days that I haven't had time to check here for posts.

I will meet whoever is on the early trip at Willow Knowls at 8:30AM Sunday morning.

Oh and Nate....don't you have the trophy set? Get up to Cordova! wink.gif

Had a great time even though my car ran like a frozen horse turd. here is all I could manage: best R/T .261, best 60' 2.061, best 1/4 15.506 mad.gif , best MPH 87.37 mad.gif . Not at all what I was hoping for but oh well at least I had a good time and was able to get my only running car home in one piece smile.gif
