I propose a final meet before the debilitatingly cold weather hits.

Before you slap on the snow tires and do some seious awd parking lot drifts, come to the DSM Central meet on Saturday, November 16 at Willow Knolls. All you MRC guys will have to adjust your timetable by 12 hrs, becuase unlike the typical summer meets which were held at midnight, this one is at high noon.

Get your tranny's rebuilt, your valves bent back into place, your transfer cases busted loose, your pistons resurfaced, etc... becuase this will definately be the best chance for many to check out what central IL has to offer in the way of fast 4 cyl. (or 6 cyl in the case of our 3S brethren).

Prepare to talk smack about ridiculous ricers and pushrod powerhouses alike, because we'll definately have the muscle to back it up.

All are welcome, though if you own a DSM and don't drive it to the meet, you'd better have a hell of an excuse (i.e. I flipped and totalled it, I trashed my transmission for the second time this year, my timing belt snapped on the way over....)

In conclusion......12 noon, Willow Knolls in Peoria, Saturday, Nov 16.

Uh oh, ten days to fix a blown headgasket, do the timing belt, and I work that night in Champaign. Well, I'll be there for a bit but it might be in a (gulp) MR2.

Yeah, I know, excuses are like... But either way I'll be there and I'll bring my jealousy of everyone elses car.

Where is Willow Knolls though?

I know that I wont be able to make it since I STILL DON'T HAVE A CLUTCH IN MY CAR and that is the day that I was hoping to get it started, but it's not looking too promising since I still haven't found anybody that can show me how to do it.

It gives better directions than I do. Glad to see you'll be making the drive.

willow knolls is actuall a shopping center with a 14 cinema theater, sam's club, a bunch of small time shops and some restaurants. if you show up, just cruise the place and find the group. If you're the first person and you're sure you're the first, and just claim an empty spot in the parking lot somewhere.

Kris. YOU ARE THE MAN! I was just thinking about how you used to set up meets the other day.

I'll be there...tranny and all.

I'll might make it, but I got my engine back from the machine shop so I was going to take all of Saturday putting that back together. Not to mention that my AWD is leaking tranny oil right now, so I have to track down that leak.

I'll probably be there... But I dunno about the Talon. Nine days is not much time to get a job, tires, timing belt, balance shaft elim., etc. Can we do a meet in mid January? We can all wreck togoether... It would be a great bonding experience... biggrin.gif
