Does the idle drop when your tach drops too? And when you turn your heat on, you dont have the AC button turned on do you?

QUOTE for instance my tach drops a little every timme i turn the lights on mine does the same thing, then it recovers and the normal idle speed resumes as usual... every vehicle I have ever owned including my brand spankin new cavi has always done it. QUOTE And when you turn your heat on, you dont have the AC button turned on do you? sometimes it doesn't matter because if you have your heater control set at defrost, it automaticly turnes on your A/C to get rid of moisture in the cabin... my guess with out looking is that your belt is old and glazzed and needs replaced... you have a pm!!!! -------------------- You CAN sleep in your car, but your CAN NOT race your house!!!

My 1.8 liter escort startind doing the same thing. Then a week later the alternator went out. Replace that belt and check your alternator. Its not something you want to die unexpectedly. My car finally died in the drivethrough line at longjohns.
