OK guys.... I know spy or kou or somebody here has to have a few 1G AWD stock exhausts laying around with stock cat-converter and stock muffler.

I need to buy one when I get home in November, so if you get one in good condition, I would love for you to hold on to it for me until I get home.

My wife emails me and tells me that a notice came in the mail and the GSX has to go in for emmisions testing..... aahhhhhh!!!!!
She (knowing it probably won't pass "as-is"), tells them about me being over seas and they granted me an extension till I get home.

The other way I think I can pass is if I can get my hands on a fairly new 3" cat-conver with flanges on both ends.... if someone has one of those that might be an option too.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Ben

Why emissions testing? I didn't think here in the wide open spaces of Illinois we had emissions testing.

We should have a couple of stock exhausts around. Also have a high flow cat on the shelf as well. I'll have to double check to see if the cat is a 2.5 or 3" though.

in central Illinois area, there is no testing..... but in the Chicago land area (Aurora) there is

Thanks Travis.... if it is 3" I may just go that route.... but wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to just bolt up a stock exhaust when I go to the testing facility???

which way would I get the cleanest results??? and should I also do things like turn down the boost and lean it out some for the test..... I am definately going to go through it and clean the air filter, change plugs, check the wires, ect.
anything else that I should concider doing???

when I built it I never had emmisions testing in my mind cause I was in Peoria.

If it were me, I'd get a stock exhaust like you're planning, turn down the boost, and lean it out a bit (enough without risk of damage). That's probably the only way you'll make it.

I don't have an AFC, they only things for tuning the fuel curve is the MAF translator.

thanks for the offer, I will get hold of you just before I come home.... how many miles are on the system..... the lower the miles, the better I think the cat will work.

You have a PM!!!
