I want this to be our local area records not necessarily the current arsenal.
I can note which cars are not currently in commission though. |

Tell me if this doesn't make sense.
Although I don't mind posting old times, I do only want to post one time per vehicle. So if a vehicle makes a faster time, the old time will be replaced. Or if the car is sold to someone else and their best ET is better or worse, then that time will be posted in place of the old owners number. So in this case Spy's ET would have replaced awdnot2's 11.49, while xians time will soon replace spy's 12.8's because these will all be done with the same car (More or less). So this is in a way an available arsenal of ET's accomplished, but only with the most recent owner/mod level. -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo

So this is in a way an available arsenal of ET's accomplished, but only with the most recent owner/mod level. I half agree, half disagree. In the example of Spy and Xian I think Spy's time should still be left up there, because he should get some credit for building/tuning the car to where it sits. No offense meant to anyone here, but (strictly hypothetical) say Xian sells the car to a kid in California right after running an initial run of 12.7 with the same mods and tune. Erase Spy's time and a year down the road nobody remembers how the car got where its at and who got it there. Now on the other hand, if Xian changes a some parts/tuning on the car and runs better, that may be a different situation. I just know that if say, I sold my car to Kicks and he ran a better time with it in the same build/tune (which he undoubtedly would), I might be a little miffed if I didn't get any official credit for building/tuning the car to where its at. Whether that would be justified or not may be a matter of personal opinion. A little bit of give and take I guess. What do you think? |

Whether that would be justified or not may be a matter of personal opinion. A little bit of give and take I guess. What do you think? I agree with both. If I bought a car, tuned it, and ran a better time than the previous owner, I would want credit for the time. Flip side, if I get my FWD to the 11s, I would be madly upset if my time was washed by a new owner. I think at that point an "originally built by" credit would be in order. Now, if someone bought my shell and put an engine, turbo, etc, in it, he would have built it, thereby negating any credit to me. -------------------- 2009 Scion Tc

nate, i think you also missed the better or worse time part. which might incite you a little bit more.
that would mean if i granny shifted down the track and got 15.3, that would replace spy's 12.8. i'm impartial either way. and do agree that it's proper to give props to spy and rob for bulding and tuning the car. -------------------- game over.

Makes sense Nate. I've added awdnot2gsx's and changed spyonyou2007's posted ET's with this in mind. This should open up the door for many more ET's to be posted for anyone wanting to relish a particular performance level you achieved with any DSM you have owned.
It should still be expected that any improved time in the same car with the same owner will replace any older/slower time. -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo

Don't worry, you could walk down the track faster than I ran the black Talon. I had all kinds of problems that day. The car didn't have problems, just me.

Nice new number for the Yellow EVO Natedogg! It's amazing how close in performance your EVO is with Darryl & Susan's 3000GT.
Plus it always blows me away how much quicker AWD makes a car with a given HP no matter how many times I look at the differences in mph between AWD and two wheel drive. (ie. #11, #12, #13 & #14 on our list...wow!) Keep up the good work! -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo

I think these guys laying down enough power for 11's have found the perfect tune and traction are elusive. Much more so than on the lesser powered cars. We all know that there are many more variables as the power increases with more mods, but living it is a whole different story. Ron Kaser who has an 8 second big blockVega put it in perspective for me a while back. Ron ernestly congratulated be on getting into the 12's and said that very few people know how hard it is to make a car run time's like 12's. I'm sure he was being nice, but considering where he's at and that he also has a 12 second Yenko Nova clone really put these things in perspective. Seriously, with all the talk of monster turbo's, astronomical HP, and low ET's I think all of us could use a good reminder of how hard it is to make any car fast. Bottom line is if you're dropping time off your 1/4 mile sprint, it takes a lot of effort, dedication and attention to detail. Particularly so for the guys with mods that make their car more potent on the street and don't just make sacrifices to hit great times at the track like huge-lag, super agressive cams, a volatile tune, etc... Getting a 3000+ lb. metal slug to rocket down a straight line in less time than it takes to finish a good watering of the basin isn't all that easy for anybody. -------------------- my cars breath smells like car food

QUOTE (black92_tsi_awd @ Sep 2 2006, 06:57 AM) Got a new best tonight, ALMOST bested you're 14B time Marcus!! 9/2/06 r/t .266 60' 1.786 330 5.274 1/8 8.120 mph 85.95 1000 10.601 1/4 12.686 mph 108.03 20 psi, still on the 14b with a Supra SMIC Full weight except for rear seat removed I can scan the slip and email next week. Darryl can validate also I just got home, it's 2 AM and I don't think I can sleep! Whew...That couldn't get much closer without you taking me down a notch. Your MPH is definitely faster, I think you can reach the 12.5 Chris. Heck, if your 60ft. time was 1.70 like mine you would have been at 12.60 or better anyway. What fuel were you running Chris? With the upgraded fuel system were you able to run 93 octane to this level?

Here's mine. 23PSI running pig rich and 5 degrees of advance. It was the last time they would let me run so I couldn't tune the fuel and timing for this boost level.
R/T 6.12 60' 1.695 (5.5" dry rotted Firestones) 330 4.982 1/8 7.657 MPH 93.21 1000 9.987 1/4 11.947 MPH 116.02 A couple of weeks later I ran again with the same boost better AFR and 25.5 degrees of timing. The cluch slipped all the way though 3rd and 4th gear. Ran a 12.1 @120 somthing MPH. I guess it's time to buy a better cluch. Can't wait to get a twin disk, slicks, SMIC and a racing header. -------------------- Yeah!!!!!!!!!!! AND WASH THAT THING OFF BEFORE YOU COME BACK!!! GROSS
FP 3065, Ported 2G exahust manifold, AEM EMS, 3" 02 housing, Shepard Racing Stage 3 tranny, Fadinza 8 LB. flywheel, Exedy stage 2 tripple puck thick ceramic cluch, 08 from the tank to filter, -6 to rail from filter, Aeromotive FPR 1:1 riseing rate, Crower Stage 4's. All of that and I don't know what I want to do next. |

Thanks. At least there is more than one person 'Officially' running faster than 12.0 in our group now.
Updated the list on this thread. From what I gather you are now running a 1G. That car has to be in the garage for me to apply your new time to the main list. -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo

There appear to be some old ones up there though also... some cars that folks no longer own or setups that are rather old that are still bold.
