ok so the 240 was in the ER the other day and my mechanic said the problem is most likely vapor lock. i dont really know what that is and how to fix it. what the car is doing is (usually) after its warmed up, under normal acceleration it feels like the power is being choked, this happens for like 5 seconds, then it feels like its being floored. all of this is at "normal" throttle. then occasionally, it will just be like total power loss, like i have the brakes on, only im accelerating. i took it in to check the fuel pump and my mechanic said it was probably vapor lock due to the warm temps and winter gas we are still getting. any info on this would be appreciated. thanks

Vapor lock can only occur on cars with carbs or with low pressure throttle body injection, I'd guess that your problem lies in the electronics.

On my Heep the fule pump (mechanical) is in the front right against the block. and the inlet and the outlet pipes are an light guage metal soo when the block gets hot it basicly boils the fule before it gets to the pump and there for no fule to pump... so its basicly impossible to have this unless your fule line is routed really really gay and something is wack unless you are using a mechanical pump and carbration
