Got all the bad gas out of the new AWD. It is now running 110 octane. Changed the injectors and that helped smooth it out some.

Some of the problems now....will not rev past 6300 and takes a while to get there. It does not bounce off of a rev limiter it just won't go any higher......there is a loud POP coming from somewhere under the hood, can't tell if it is coming from near the intake or the IC. It you can feel it through the UICP and the sound seems to move.

You have to hold the gas to the floor for it to start. We were thinking maybe bad fuel pump and/or filters???

When it does idle it sounds fine except for a hiccup every now and then that almost sounds like when your A/C kicks on. When you try to drive it you have to floor the gas and it seems to have no power and wants to go nowhere. Possible boost leak?

Things we need.......Timing Belt (looks like swiss cheese), logger, and somebody with a little more knowledge.........Nate, Marcus, Kris smile.gif

Sounds like the timing may be off. As for the timing belt looking like swiss cheese, i wouldnt run it again till you replace that or your gonna end up creating an even bigger problem.

Timing is more than likely the cause of your problems. Make sure the timing marks on the cams and the timing mark on the crank are all in the right spot at TDC. Replace that timing belt (and the tensioner while you're at it) and put the timing light on it. You should be good after that.

if I still have it, you are more than welcome to my timing belt. I can not confirm that it is new, however, it is in great shape as it came off a motor that was built but never fired.

If you have high miles, i would replace the tensioner pully and idler pully for some insurance. You can get them on machv for like 20-30 bucks each.

Ive done 3 timing belts, and i bought all mine through oreillys for like 45 bucks and havent had any problems. But most do recommend going OEM, im not sure how much they run at the dealer

well got the timing set, still didn't want to run for sh!t mad.gif I was getting worried that something major was wrong. plugs 3&4 didn't make a difference if they were hooked up or not, 1&2 would kill the motor.swapped wires 3&4 and she surged, idle surge from swapping 2 plug wires??? pulled the BISS plug and she was sucking air big time, no BISS to be found unsure.gif but I have one on my A/T. put in the BISS got it adjusted and she is purrring. she revs fast as hell sound good ( as good as stock exhaust can sound) so all I have left it the timing belt, replace the front bumper & lights, fix drivers seat so it slides. and she will be ready to tear up the streets.

If you have the larger injectors then you more than likely do not need more fuel pressure. Obviously that decision can be best made after logging the engine. I'd hold off until then.

Be careful which garage you take it too. I've heard more stories about garage screwing up timing belts and not fessing up than I care to think about. I'd be happy to help or even do it for you, but I won't have any time until well after the first of the year...
