Looking at the options out there and thought it would be a good topic of discussion.
Who's running what, and what are your experiences? This is some pretty decent coin to be spending, so all information is valuable. Here's a few I was looking at: Innovate LM1 Zeitronix ZT-2 AEM 6-in-1 gauge NGK Powerdex AFX PLX M-250 and M-350 -------------------- 92 Eagle Talon TSI AWD "The Black Golfball" How fast can a 14B go???

I have used the PLX for 2 years now in my Z and it has been pretty faithful. It takes 15 seconds or so for the sensor to get heated up and reading correctly. It has +/-5V output for datalogging as well
I have seen the AEM in use and it is a nice piece as well FWIW I have an AEM 6 in 1 for sale-never opened for 265 in classifieds -------------------- 1990 Nissan 300ZX T

I've used the plx-m250 on my gsx and the aem single channel UEGO wideband in conjunction with the AEM EMS and found both to be quite usable and easy to set up.
With all the other things going on with the engines, in terms of tolerances and measuring accuracy, I'm of the opinion that 90% of the widebands out there will be virtually indistinguishable in terms of performance. It's mostly a matter of preference in terms of packaging, price, and feature set. Make a determination if you want something fancy like data acquisition with all the bells and whistles and if the price fits, then go for it. -------------------- my cars breath smells like car food

The Innovate is nice in that it can be recalibrated to account for sensor drift as the sensor ages, and it can also tell if the sensor is being operated outside its correct heat range and reading inaccurately(due to being too close to a turbo, etc). The other units can't tell you that. The highspeed datalogging is nice on the Buick since the ECU on that car only spits data out every 1.5 seconds.
The downside to the LM-1 is that it is really bulky and the display is kind of small. -------------------- Eric Wort

I haven't started all my homework yet but have appropriate discussions marked for when I do sit down.
I purchased an AEM 6-in-1 some weeks ago for my daily driver and look forward to getting it installed this coming week. But what I've scanned briefly and lightly talks about some more versatile systems at little increased price. Chief among the interest are units that can monitor more than just AFR and feed management systems. -------------------- ... she likes bein' forced ...

I will be buying the AEM UEGO very soon...I got a good price from a guy selling one new...
Should make tuning much easier...I can't log it with my setup, but it will be helpful for WOT tuning -------------------- -Josh

Good information!
Does anybody have any experience hooking up the wideband outputs for datalogging. I know Pocketlogger has settings the PLX outputs (see below) but has anybody tried any of the other wideband units outputs? From Pocketlogger board: Version 2.03b has the following changes: WBo2 support using the unused EGR Temp input: Currently it is set up for PLX units. If you have another WBo2 unit with a 0-5v output, please post so we can support it! You need to connect the 0-5v output from the WBo2 device to Pin 15 on a DSM. Pin 53 on a 3/s. Software: There is a WB02 parameter in the Select Param screen now There is now a WB Setup screen. Tap the menu button from the main screen and tap "Preferences" then the "WBo2 Setup" button. If you are connected to the car, it will display the current WB02 reading. There is an offset that you can adjust up and down to make the logger and the PLX display read the same. -------------------- 92 Eagle Talon TSI AWD "The Black Golfball" How fast can a 14B go???

i am useing the AEM UEGO and i am a fan. install was super easy to install and it does what it needs to. no bulky boxes to mount. i picked up a single dash guage pod and mounted it on top of the steering column so that it is right there when i am looking at my tach. it covers the oil pressure guage but that thing is damn near worthless anyways.

I have been very happy with my PLXdevices WB. I have used it in conjunction with my pocketlogger software for the past 2 years now. It has been key in helping me tune my car.

I just bought the AEM UEGO...Can't wait to get it installed...If only I could weld on my own I wouldn't need to spend an extra $100...
Got it new for $225 tho Looking forward to a better tune...I think it will go in my tripple pod, and I will move my boost gauge to a gauge cop on the steering column -------------------- -Josh

It has been key in helping me tune my car. Did you wire it at the ECM, or through the ERGT plug in the engine compartment. And if through the ERGT plug, where the hell is it?? I've been looking at the AEM 6-in-1 gauge, because I like the look of the gauge but mainly because I have a AMS gift certificate to burn. I'm just worried about getting the pocket logger to log the AEM output correctly. I wired it at the ECM. It was pretty simple because I mounted the guage on top of the dash. I just ran the wires down to the ECM.

I had mine installed by Devo tuning....
The fact that my o2 sensor is dead makes tuning really difficult, because as soon as I richen the safc up to get it at 14.7 at idle, the o2 not cycling correctly causes the car to run super lean apparently...It moves straight to 16.4 - 17.0 and then I have to richen it up again to get it to work again...Its an annoying process.... Otherwise, damn, my tune was so off...Its weird tho, at idle, Im at +7% with 560cc injectors, but at high throttle Im at -22% for the most part...I dont really understand how that works... Also, my car really likes to knock...I was just tuning off wideband readings, where I had it good at 10.9 - 11.2 basically thru out high throttle, and as soon as I go to log it with mmcd it turns out it wants to knock 5-10 counts, even at 11.0....That seemed rich enough for me, but apparently not... This is only at 17-18psi on a 14b, fmic ++ also...Wierd -------------------- -Josh

there are people that tune for 5-10 counts of knock beacuse i think it is 11 counts is where the ECU starts to pull timing (could be 16 or i might be talking out of my ass). my car idles lean too... i just deal with it. and the 14b isn't really efficiant at 18psi. i have never run a 14b on a FMIC but i would imagine that if you took it down to 16psi that would take away all of your knock.

~7+ counts is typically where it starts pulling timing...Altho anything above 4 counts is enough to scare me, as it shows that knock is really building up past the safe limit...
Also, lately I have been extremely annoyed with the weather changes on a/f...At night, my safc settings net me a decent 10.9 across the board....This morning, my same settings during this 90* day got me a bad 10.0 above 4500 rpm I copied your mounting place too...Here's my blinky light setup ![]()

Well I ended up going with the AEM. The tech guy at pocketlooger says the AEM with log correctly also. I wanted to PLX but the AMS gift certificate made the decision for me-less cash out of my pocket!
I'm going to mount mine like Chicago_DSM. -------------------- 92 Eagle Talon TSI AWD "The Black Golfball" How fast can a 14B go???

Gauge showed up yesterday!
Where are you guys putting the bung for the O2 sensor. The AEM instructions say 36" from the head to give the sensor a long life. I haven't got under the car to see where that puts it, but it seems to me that would be after the flex section. -------------------- 92 Eagle Talon TSI AWD "The Black Golfball" How fast can a 14B go???
