has anyone heard a pretty close count on how many people are going sunday?just curious.i fought a program problem with the car last night for several hours,but after a conversation with mike laskey he talked me into leaving it.we have had a problem building boost on the starting line and we have been suffering a major bog.we were leaving on about 7psi and it needs to be between 8-10psi.i have played with the program and now its making almost 15psi.WAY TO MUCH!i cant find a happy medium,i hope its not to violent.it sounds as if it may be.oh well they will here the backfires on the two step for miles around tommorrow!it ought to be interesting.

My car is having some serious electrical issues and therefore will not crank. Should have known better than to buy a '90. I'll be checking to see if there are any good condition '90 wiring harnesses out there because the '91 I took from Dan's car isn't going to work. If I can find one, Travis, I may take you up on the '90 power transistor, throttle body, and CAS. I should have something going for Vicary day, whether it be this car or a whole new chassis.

Sorry I've been too busy getting my Talon running over the past couple days that I haven't had time to check here for posts.

Had a great time even though my car ran like a frozen horse turd. here is all I could manage: best R/T .261, best 60' 2.061, best 1/4 15.506 , best MPH 87.37 . Not at all what I was hoping for but oh well at least I had a good time and was able to get my only running car home in one piece

Awesome time!! Best time for me was a 14.7... with lots of knock apparently. When are we going to start planning for next year?!?!

I have to post but I will try to keep it short. I survived my first day of racing . Even though for the first like 5 or so passes I thought I was red lighting looking at the R/T but then found out it was based on 0 not .50. Oh well so my early R/T's were much better than later. I know the light turns red but I was too focused on other stuff to notice that it did not turn red. My best R/T .054. 60 ft 1.927. 1/4 mile 13.810 and best mph 105.23.

I am not as good as Darryl yet, a 13.6 at 103 mph, he lost the time slip so I don't know the specifics. But I am a happy camper, can't you tell? I am just glad I didn't die of a heart attack. But I guess I got bit a little by the bug, you'll probably see me again out there.

I had a great time meeting everyone and wish you guys and Glas had the same amount of fun that I had. I just opened up a new catagory in the Gallery for the SCDC event. I will make it public for till end of next week (9/26 of so) so everyone can post pics if they can. Well I hope to see you all sone!

Ohh and Susan, I ran one with you, well not really with you cuse it was more of a follow Susan event, and you looked good kickin my a$$! Keep it up!

The first Annual Sport Compact Drag Challenge was a succes!

Thanks to all of you that went the distance and showed up in Cordova! There were a total of 40 registered racers leaving plenty of time to make as many passes as possible and still pay the bills.

Sadly there were a lot of fast imports that didn't make it to the show due to numerous reasons. Even some of those that did make it had some MAJOR tuning issues to contend with all day. I will have to admit this wasn't the best day for most of the fast imports laying down their times, but the open track lent itself very well to tuning.

I personally had some serious coolant issues with my Talon so I didn't show on time and the car never made it past Woodall. I can give thanks to Josh of SloPny, Dan, Scott, Darryl and Susan, Rob & Kristy, and Brian for all pitching in and helping me get the loose ends covered. Especially Brian and Rob who helped me with my car before and after!

This first event showed that there is room for improvement, but if all those that participated enjoyed and would do it all over again, I know that we can make this an annual party!

I will take the next few days to sort all of the times and post the results soon. We will then schedule a little trophy party where we can get together, have some food, hand out trophies and of corse talk about cars!

He guys! I had an awsome time today. I was by far the slowest car there, lol but its all good, I had a lot of fun!!! My best 1/4 run was 19.351 @ 70.05 mph. Hell Ya, I was tryin to get above 70 mph all day, lol! I can't wait to do it again sometime! Talk to ya later guys. It was nice to meet some of ya, and the rest, hopefully I will see ya next time we get together.

The Fella MeatPieus on CII (same on here?) said he got a ton of video footage and would get it on the computer as soon as he could!

hey guys, wish i could have come with.....sounds like a good time.....I had some starter issues (the car wouldnt start)lol, luckily for me i found out (around 11:30) that it was merely a bad battery cable....whoooo!!!
that was a relief. I probably wouldnt have done so well yesterday anyway with my second gear syncro going bad, the car was grinding 70% of the time when i would shift into second. not so good times .......I so wanted to go, yesterday was a real disappointment for me.....maybe I should have just went anyway and took the R/T Dakota....oh well theres always next time.....so when are we all getting together again?????

Most likely the SCDC event will be back next year. As far as a nother even at cordova, we may go next weekend or not till next may, I dont knwo untill enough people get an interested in going again.

I saw you Dave, I must have spent too much time in the car... I was parked between Dan and the mustang guys... Purple truck with the U-haul.

I had a great time at Cordova! Just wish my shifter cables didn't bind up so I would have been able to tune the car in a little better. Oh well, she should be running good at Vicary Day.

Problems that need be fixed by Vicary Day:

Shifter cables replaced.
Longer wheel studs installed so I can put on my good rubber.
Diagnostic port figured out. (I can't log my car and its killing me!!!)
Window switch replaced. (Haha!, thanks for that help, Rob, Jbone, and Mike)
Tach installed. Yeah, my tach doesn't work. That's what you get with '91-'94 wiring in a '90.
Maybe a paint job...yeah right.


Rob, I should have some time for logging sometime this week, especially if you bring me a working driver's side window switch.

Have you already bought your wheel studs? I've got a complete set of extended wheel studs from RRE sitting on a shelf. It's looking like they might be spares. Oh, and if you need the plug for that diagnostic, just let me know which it is and I can cut it out of one of the parts cars (both '90 though so I'm not sure if that helps).

By the way, was nice to see you pull things together and make a showing! Tuned or not, I give you all kinds of credit for getting the beast running and to the strip.

I'll take you up on those wheel studs. I still owe you for the body pieces. I'm not sure whether I'll need a whole new diagnostic port or not. It may just be a bad wire connection. Just let me know the next time you're coming this way and we'll settle up.

Will i hope you have it again next year. I hope i have a better car, so i wont be going for the slowest car trophy, oh well maybe i can just watch.

I had a BLAST!!! I put in 19 runs. best: 16.728@83.00mph!! I was stoked!! I got to see a couple people go and it was fun to watch 'em go. I am going to go to V-day, riding shotgun w/ someone.

AWD4KICKS, sorry about the talon. I really wished that would have made it. Glad to hear we were able to pay the bills in full at the race.

Good to see a strong showing of DSMs at the race, but bad to see about 1/2 go home broke or near it. I hope that all the affected DSMs make it back at full strength for V-day.

All in all, GREAT TIME

Travis and I made it back just fine, I think I got almost 28MPG on the way back(due in part to the duct tape bodywork ). I don't know why I was getting such good mileage though, my O2 sensor wires broke away from the sensor housing shortly after I dropped Travis off. My sensor is currently reading 4.98V on the logger. I jiggled the wires some and it gave a reading for a little while, but then stopped working again. Time to go to KOU Motorsports and pick one up

KOU motorsports currently has two of that item in stock. One even currently resides in a mildly ported O2 housing that is also for sale.

me and my buddy were just talking about the good milage we got this weekend. I filled up to the rim at Fast stop on top of the hill on 24 in peoria and went all the way up to cordova, Completed 13 passes (that all I had slips for at least), then drove all the way down south of Springfield and still had just a hair over a 1/4 of a tank! I could not belive it. the average was like 24-25mpg in my 3.0 mitsu engine! it was crazy.

I get 20mph on city or highway Some doofs in an astrovan tried to race me too, but I put them behind me quick. John said the chick riding shotgun flashed my car, but I wasn't looking.

I hate you. I got about 9mpg on the way up, doing 70 the whole way.

I got about 12mpg on the way back, doing 80 the whole way, 120+ in some spots.
