it is finally running! it still has a few bugs to work out.. need to replace a hose that split and is spraying coolant.. need to get bigger injectors cuz i hit 107% duty cycle. i am running it right now at roughly 14psi with very little knock. the highest i saw was 11 so i am pleased with that. i definitely need to get an eprom and get this thing tuned. i held off on installing the supra pump til i get an aeromotive fpr.

QUOTE (spyonu2007 @ Mar 16 2006, 11:08 PM)
Congrats on getting her running.
I just started driving the old FFGst now that the evo is under the knife.

thanks... its only been down since the day i bought it back in october. so far virtually everything we touched had to be replaced.

its got a rebuilt head, replaced the shortblock, replaced the valvecover(had a wicked bad crack that sprayed oil all over the place), removed all the emissions(due to most of it being missing anyway), replaced the oil pump, replaced the water pump, removed the balance shafts, replaced the battery, replaced the ex man with a ported 2g(due to stock mani being badly cracked), replaced the turbo(due to bad seals in original turbo), threw in an oil cooler, threw on a 144 intake, got some magnacor wires, replaced the suspension with agx's and sprint springs, replaced some ugly interior pieces... i'm sure i am missing some stuff

parts i have picked up but havent installed yet: supra tt fuel pump, ported and polished(i did such a good job, its perty!) 2g tb elbow, uicp(havent decided if i will keep it or sell it and build my own), greddy type s bov, 3" x 10" stainless steel flex section(for downpipe i am building), 3" inlet/4" outlet magnaflow race series muffler. the exhaust will be full 3" from the o2 housing back. there will be a cutout on the downpipe. no resonator, no cat... nothing but pipe back to the muffler

upcoming mods/replacement: aside from the stuff mentioned above that needs installed... radiator needs replaced due to a broken neck, st rear swaybar, eprom ecu chipped by wortdog, 660cc or 720cc injectors, aeromotive fpr, possibly an afc for some added adjustability beyond the chipped ecu, 2-3psi more boost... after that will come wheels. i am torn between enkei rsv's or rays gram lights 57c. it will take 3 months to get the gram lights due to the color i want being a japan only color. the wheels will prly be 17x7.5 with a 35 or 40mm offset. tires i am still trying to decide also.. most likely azenis but not being awd makes me worry a little more about wet weather. after all that will be a fmic and a bigger turbo. most likely go with an evo3 16g, but toying with the idea of a 20g

thats what i am leaning towards.. i am trying to keep the cost down as much as possible. my only worries are the tires... i dont want to spool too fast and burn the tires off... i'd rather lag for 4000rpm, then burn the tires off tongue.gif

not quite in the market for wheels yet kris... i need some time to replenish the bank account. so far i am up to about $4000 i've spent on this piece of shit. gonna try to drive it and enjoy it for the next month before it goes under again. plus with all the work we have lined up now, i wont have any time to work on this thing. but hopefully after these 2 houses we have to build, i will have a decent bankroll to further it along.. for the time being i am gonna put on the parts i have sitting for it and maybe slowly accumulate more parts over the next month or two

An EVO3 16g should spool WAY before 4000. For 4000 RPMs you get something bigger like a 50trim or fp green.

yea thats why i was thinking of a 20g or i might be able to pick up a 50trim for a decent price. most likely i will just go with the evo3.. at least for the time being

550s should be considered the bare minimums for the Evo3. 650s or above is much more preferred when looking at duty cycle. And I'm not concerned about everyone else running the same turbos. It's all the other goodies that I'm banking on. wink.gif biggthumpup.gif

i am definitely gonna run bigger than 550's. right now at 13-14psi i am maxing out the stock injectors... so when i put a bigger turbo on and up the boost a couple psi i think i would like a little room to play with when it comes to duty cycle. so it will be 660's or 720's.
the reason i am leaning more towards the evo3 is cuz the 20g is 2-3x more expensive... plus i can still run the evo3 with my stock sidemount. with the 20g it'd be pushing it. for the cost of the 20g i can get an evo3 and a fmic
my only real concern is that i am fwd... i would like a little lag

well i got some little things done today. i did the "push/pull" foglight switch fix, i replaced the 5 1/4's in the doors with crossfire 62sx 6" coax's, i replaced the shitty non-working stock head unit with an eclipse cd player(courtesy of midwestdsm), i replaced the short ball type stock shift knob with the horsecock stock shift knob, and i adjusted the sunroof so it actually seals when it closes.
i do still need to get a stock stereo surround(a previous owner cut out the piece that seperated the 1/2 din slots), i need to get an actual mounting bracket so its not just sitting in there. the only other interior stuff to do after that will be to replace the headliner, get a small sub and amp, maybe replace the back speakers, although they sound really good right now, so i may not,but if i do i may put speakers in the dash as well.
after that, the only changes to the interior will come in electronic form. more gauges, and some tuning devices

now if i would only get off my ass and get the exhaust done and license the thing
