Thinking about selling my 1g awd project and my 90 300zx and getting an 86 Buick Grand National, the black angel of death as some call them, and also picking up a decent small pickup for daily driving, have any of you guys ran into any GN's or raced any? There are 2 i am looking at, both around 8k and both with about 125k miles, I really want one, to take out to the track every once in a while and also take to car shows and all that, some people love em some people hate em, i kinda like the "joe dirt" look of them, how about ou?

I think this discussion has beneficial for everyone. Thank you kicks for your post, good stuff! And wort, I have to agree as well and I guess your point about being able to drive cross country kinda changed it for me. Never knew about the vc breather though, I guess my car's illegal too then. The new Hornet 1G DSM N/A race car I'm helping build is street legal I'm told. The owner's father is a state policeman and we shared some thoughts about the car one night. Here's what he told me
The car doesn't have to have windows or a windshield, just wipers.(wtf???) The car doesn't have to have headlights as long as youre driving during the day. It only has to have one brake light and you can signal with your hands. As long as the exhaust is relatively quiet and you have a horn, it's fair game. Those are just a few of the things that he said would be legal just by looking at the exterior of the car. When asked what he would if he saw that fully gutted racecar on the highway he replied, "I'd probably do a P.I.T. maneuver (hit it in the rear quarterpanel and spin it out) on his a$$ and just keep on driving." -------------------- "I hear he tunes the space shuttle also...and that thing is fast"
