sad.gif Nate you hurt my feelings, I thought you loved me? tongue.gif

I did what you said, checked vfaq. There is alot of shit to do the balance shafts. blink.gif

biggrin.gif Didn't mean to come off harsh. I just think that resources like the vfaq website can answer a lot of questions and I think they should be used to their fullest extent. When I first got into DSM's. I read through just about every vfaq on the site. I shit you not. You'll learn more about your car reading through those than you might expect.

Here it is guys,
I just wanted to let everyone know. I am being lazy! I still haven't got the motor out and it's freakin cold out. No heated garage or floor. So it may be awhile before I get to it.

I did want to let all know that I have ordered everything I need to get it running. It all should be here by tomorrow! So I guess I will start on it tomorrow, tongue.gif . Maybe?

Wow, looking really good...Altho still got that yellow bumper, not so sure about that....

Turbo setup looking good....I've heard mixed things about the problems with running no intake pipe, just filter-compressor housing, but it sure as hell looks good....

This thing will be a 'budget beast' for sure...

BTW: Purple and yellow? why tongue.gif

Well..................... Purple and Yellow are my two favorite colors. I have also implemented some Blue in there also. All of the IC piping should be powered Yellow when I am done. All of my couplers are blue, AFPR is blue. I have one red thing under the hood and that is the MBC that I got from miami.
And by the way miami thanks for the IC and piping it will come in handy for that turbo. biggthumpup.gif

Oh and by the way, It won't have yellow bumpers when it pulls out the driveway. I am in the stressing situation of installing a body kit on it. And I am not faring well with that at all. It is kicking my ass! But it will be done! ph34r.gif

Whatever your preference...This will definitely be 'unique', that's for sure...Purple and Yellow engine bay in a white car would not normally be my first thought for a good idea, but the fact that your doing it b/c its your favorite colors adds some purpose and background into the idea, so it becomes much more attractive

I suppose DSMtalk is comparable, but in IMHO DSMtuners is better. I like the mods, the members, and the whole atmosphere of DSMtuners. Also, help is always available, as long as you play by the rules... Luda runs a tight ship.

Looks good. Did you blast that intake and cyl head to get it so clean. Mine still looked like ass after I cleaned it, so I painted it like everything else.

Still not sure about the purple... cool.gif Looks like a slick job though.

No, I didn't blast the intake. I used Sea Foam and a brush to clean the intake inside and out. I let it soak on the inside for a couple of days. You would not believe all the black crap that came out of it.

The head was refreshed, that is why it looks so damn good. I picked it up for $163.00 from Reichert Engines & Machine Shop (217-725-2481) in Springfield. That was for the valve job, resurface, and pressure check. He said that he can do the port matching also. That will be done to the next head that I send to him.

Here is a list of the thing that I have purchased for this new project of mine. I am probably forgetting something.
  • 3" Apexi Dunk Catback exhaust "from belittle"
  • 3" Downpipe " Built by Asiankid"
  • 255 walbro lph fuel pump
  • 850cc injectors
  • DSM Link
  • Eprom ECU
  • 3" GM Mafs
  • JDM Afpr
  • Fidanza flywheel
  • Sony Vaio for DSM Link
  • Hallman mbc "Thanks to akamiami"
  • FMIC & Piping 2 1/2" "Thanks to akamiami" "Asiankid will be doing the welding on this also"
  • Tubular exhaust manifold "Thanks to Asiankid"
  • Tubular O2 housing
  • Lunar boost gauge
  • Lunar A/F gauge
  • Turboxs bov
  • .50 Trim Garrett Turbo
  • 44mm Wastegate "Work done by Asiankid"
  • Braided oil feed and return lines
Like I said before I did alot of soul searching on this setup and it was and is in my budget. So now all that is left is getting it put together.

What's up with the "JDM FPR"? Is there a difference?

The JDM AFPR is the one I bought off of ebay last year. Nothing special, I have to use it first and then see if it fails on me. Or acts like the 1G did when it was on there.
If it acts up I will let everyone know about it. And then I am after a good AFPR.
I in my own mind think that the 1G was an ecu error. I think it would run until the ecu got hot and then started messing things up. It only happened to me on long drives. Like last year at SCDC. I got to just this side of Lincoln and it started to do the sputter thing to me. And that was the first experience with it doing that.
Trust me Bret if it acts up, I will pitch it where it stops me. Then I will be on the phone or the net for a good one. And I will not cheap out on the part the second time around.

Eh, I wasn't trying to tell you to get something else. I honestly thought that you were talking about a Japanese O.E. FPR rather than the one you bought off of Ebay. I thought for a second it was a mod I hadn't heard about or something. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. It looks like you've got a pretty nice list there!

Hey turbohcar I didn't take it the way think I did. I was just saying I have my doubts right now about it.

Well I am in the FUCKED position again. I am working on getting a timing cover and a starter plate that goes to the 2g awd. I have two 1g starter plates but that won't work. So I still can't put the motor in.
I have called every where I can think of. Belittle has both parts but that means I will have to drive to Iowa again. And that is a long ass boring drive!

Because of my new found problems I am putting the 94 Bonneville SSEI back on the road. Then I will have two cars that run damn good! The Bonny will become the daily driver for sure. The Talon is going to be garaged from now on. It will only be brought out on special ocassions from now on. This way matbe I can save a little money in parts!

Let me know what you guys think, or if you can help me out with the parts I need! Thanks!
