Well I still dont have this damn clutch installed on my TSi AWD. I would greatly appreciate it if somebody could help me out sometime next week. Unfortunately I still need a flywheel but I cant get ahold of either person that told me that they have one. Then I have to get it resurfaced and this damn thing in. I've got the pressure plate, a new throwout bearing and clip, tranny fluid, jackstands, and a jack. Now all I need is a resurfaced flywheel, an alignment tool, and some help. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

All of my flywheels are at my parent's house in Quincy, which is kind of far away. You should be able to get the clutch alignment tool for like $5 at Advance Auto. I have like 3 of those things now. I might have some time to help out some weekend.
Have you considered just getting a lightened flywheel of some sort? I did it mainly as a quick way to get a perfectly machined flywheel. RRE's lightened flywheel is fairly reasonable at under $200. -------------------- Eric Wort

Dude I'm so far behind on my engine transplant, I can't even think about much else. I'm sure you can still pick up a fly wheel from someone though.

If you're driving it on the street you will most likely want a full face disk.

QUOTE (mark95turbo @ Sep 11 2003, 10:29 AM) Thanks guys. I just picked one up from Darryl last nite and got to see the 9 second beast! It depends on what you are willing to put up with. If the six-puck has a sprung hub it shouldn't be too harsh. It will be harsher than a full-face though. If you are planning on putting some serious hp down with your car a pucked clutch would be good insurance. After some clutch wear AWD's do tend to slip the clutch more often. Since the tires don't spin much, something's gotta give. Next clutch job I do on my car will probably be a pucked disc of some sort, but then again its not my daily driver. |

What would you say is a good clutch thats not over expensive? Id like to have an Exody I think it is but seems liek it will cost too much.

Gabor's clutch, that AMS in Chicago sells, is supposed to be pretty good. Maybe someone else has one or has heard of it and can post about it. All I've heard is that it's a feramic disk, that's supposed to be comparable to the ACT 2100, only cheaper.
