For those that do not know, I am now half partner of Slo-Pony Auto Repair and working as the service writer and estimator. This has been quite a little while in the works and there are still some bugs to work out, but the major step has been made.

To comemorate this event I would like to propose that we pick-up where Dan's Halloween party got cancelled. We don't have live music, and we don't require costumes, but we do have a keg of beer and a grill ready to rock! We are not trying to pull anyone away from Tate's party but if you didn't plan on making that one and still wanted to go to a good party, we will be rocking at the shop on 8202 N. University in Peoria, IL.

Lets start at 7PM and end as late as possible!

Congratulations, Marcus. I guess this explains why I am always seeing your car there when I drive by. biggthumpup.gif

On a side note, do you guys do rebuilds of GM FWD transaxles? I have heard all the good things Josh does for the DSM trannies, and I have a GM 5-spd in need of some TLC.

Thanks,
Marty

Thanks guys!

Yes Josh is just as proficient with the manual GM transaxles as he is with the DSM versions Marty.
...and yes we're still on for this coming Saturday for the party!

Its a mechanic shop in North Peoria. They do like their Mustang's there, but they'll work on anything.

Ok, but just remember that you asked for this shameless advertisement!

Slo-Pny Auto Repair
ASE Certified Full Service Auto Center (Import and Domestic)
Open Mon-Sat 9AM-6PM
Located at 8202 N. University, Peoria, IL
You can contact us by phone at: 309-693-7569

Our services including:
Transmissions (Josh is our local DSM, import and Mustang manual transmission rebuild expert.)
Clutches (We recommend and sell Star otherwise known as SPEC clutches, but we will install any)
Tune-ups
Computer diagnostics
Elecectrical
Brakes
Shocks/struts
Plus most all other major/minor mechanical repair
And of corse Performance modifications!

All of our current mechanics own and have raced Ford Mustangs, hence the name Slo-Pny meant in sarcasm. However, we have repaired, modified and built numerous import parts and vehicles for customers as well. To prove that point I'll list off the cars that are siting in our lot awaiting parts or service or customer pick-up:

Mits 3000GT - Awaiting a new motor
Nissan 240SX - Awaiting a new clutch
Eagle Talon AWD - Engine repair
Nissan 300ZX - Awaiting an engine wire harness
Eagle Talon AWD - Finishing a trany install
Dodge Neon - Needing a tranny
Ford Truck - Finished basic tune-up
VW Beetle - awaiting a new engine
Fiero GT - awaiting a small block Chevy
67 Impala - awaiting a High performance engine
93 Mustang GT - awaiting new rear limited slip and gears
Acura integra - awaiting valve adjustment on engine swap
Monster Miata - just received a new clutch and aftermarket shifter
Plus many more.

So our services are varied, flexible and many.

The Slo Pny Racing name is dawned by those that come to us for performance upgrades and appreciate the experience and work that we build their cars with.

I keep meaning to ask for a couple of those slo-pony racing stickers I see in all the guys cars... I can at least supply a little advertising for the repeated borrowing of Josh's trailer to pick up all my projects!! biggrin.gif

They definitely like their fox body Mustangs, but their mechanical abilities are very diverse. In fact one of our mechanics used to work at a GM dealership and specialize in Cadillac major repairs during the week, while he raced his Mustangs on the weekends.

To keep this forum friendly I have to add that their expertize with DSM's is only second to their Mustang experience. Over the past two years there have been a healthy number of DSM repairs and build-ups run through Slo-Pny! wink.gif
