I think these guys laying down enough power for 11's have found the perfect tune and traction are elusive. Much more so than on the lesser powered cars. We all know that there are many more variables as the power increases with more mods, but living it is a whole different story.

Ron Kaser who has an 8 second big blockVega put it in perspective for me a while back. Ron ernestly congratulated be on getting into the 12's and said that very few people know how hard it is to make a car run time's like 12's. I'm sure he was being nice, but considering where he's at and that he also has a 12 second Yenko Nova clone really put these things in perspective.

i need to get my shit back together so i can run an ET that goes with my traps... after i fixed my fuel pressure i went on a run to tune. and ran a 14.2 @ 102.

What a class-act. Seriously, with all the talk of monster turbo's, astronomical HP, and low ET's I think all of us could use a good reminder of how hard it is to make any car fast. Bottom line is if you're dropping time off your 1/4 mile sprint, it takes a lot of effort, dedication and attention to detail. Particularly so for the guys with mods that make their car more potent on the street and don't just make sacrifices to hit great times at the track like huge-lag, super agressive cams, a volatile tune, etc... Getting a 3000+ lb. metal slug to rocket down a straight line in less time than it takes to finish a good watering of the basin isn't all that easy for anybody.

I just noticed...
Rob's got my motor in his car and still can't run my time! I'm still a 100th of a second faster! Gig gig gig gigggity!!! Just playin Rob, you saw how stripped down the interior was on that thing. Basically I was the same way, untuned on 18psi (overrunning the flapper door to get there). Believe me, I only made 5 runs that day and that thing definitely has more left in it. Good luck!

BTW, I definitely would like a matchup. Camaro vs. your DSM. For old times sake and just for strict comparison of my old car versus the new one.

Car's actually been hibernating lately.... too much other stuff going on. Hopefully it'll be back out before the winter hits.

Whew...That couldn't get much closer without you taking me down a notch. Your MPH is definitely faster, I think you can reach the 12.5 Chris. Heck, if your 60ft. time was 1.70 like mine you would have been at 12.60 or better anyway.

What fuel were you running Chris? With the upgraded fuel system were you able to run 93 octane to this level?

Here's mine. 23PSI running pig rich and 5 degrees of advance. It was the last time they would let me run so I couldn't tune the fuel and timing for this boost level.

A couple of weeks later I ran again with the same boost better AFR and 25.5 degrees of timing. The cluch slipped all the way though 3rd and 4th gear. Ran a 12.1 @120 somthing MPH. I guess it's time to buy a better cluch.

Can't wait to get a twin disk, slicks, SMIC and a racing header.
